Building Blocks for Education
Gifts in honor of a special teacher, principal, member of the community or member of your family can be made either in the form of a Tribute card (see below) or in a Building Block for Education. Building Blocks are brass plaques mounted on the lobby walls of the Culver City Unified School District Office, and are appropriate in memory of a loved one or to mark a special occasion such as graduation, anniversary or retirement.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Donors employed by an organization with a matching gift program are urged to take advantage of this opportunity whenever possible to double or even triple contributions. Some companies also match the gifts of directors, spouses, and retirees. During 2008-2009, CCEF received matching gifts from Boeing, Google, Raytheon, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Wells Fargo.
Businesses and Foundations
The Foundation solicits gifts and grants from corporations and foundations committed to supporting education. We offer rewarding opportunities for corporations and foundations to invest in preK – 12 education and facilitate partnerships that benefit both parties. Donations of goods and services to the Foundation, such as printing and special event underwriting, are very valuable. They allow us to lower operating expenses and contribute more to the schools. In-kind donations in the form of partnerships with schools are also sought after by the Foundation.
Endowment Fund
The Culver City Education Foundation Endowment Fund will be held in perpetuity. In this early stage, no money will be spent prior to attaining $100,000. Gifts directed to this fund are invested under the auspices of the California Community Foundation. After accumulating $100,000 a portion of its average investment return will be spent as directed by the Foundation or the donor. A donor who creates an endowment gift today can be confident that it will grow and continue to support the Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) in future years. Unrestricted gifts allow the Foundation to address the highest priority needs, which may change over the years, of the CCUSD. However, as with any donation to the Foundation, your gift can provide for programs of special interest to you.
Charitable Planning and Giving
A gift of cash is the easiest and most direct way to give to the Culver City Education Foundation Endowment Fund. Donations of appreciated securities, stock, even real estate can also be made. Depending on the type of asset given, and the type of gift arrangement made, a donor may enjoy savings on income taxes (including capital gain) and transfer taxes, as well as gaining cash flow. It is possible to obtain immediate tax savings on a future gift from your estate. This type of planning includes bequests and charitable remainder trusts which are administered for us by the California Community Foundation.
